Canada's busiest airport is Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ). With two terminal buildings (a third is under construction), most major airlines have direct flights to this airport. It is located approximately 27 kilometres from the city's downtown core, and taxis are available directly outside of each terminal. A taxi takes approximately 45 minutes to make the journey at an approximate cost of $60 (Canadian). Airport Express buses are available from both terminals into the downtown area. (See information below)

Toronto also has a smaller airport, Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, located quite close to the city's downtown on the Toronto Islands connected by the world's shortest ferry ride. Primarily serviced by Porter Airlines, a more regional airline, this may provide some attendees with a convenient option when flying from centres within eastern Canada and a few locations in the United States (Chicago, Boston, New York). This airport is approximately 5 kilometres from the hotel, and taxis located outside the terminal will take about 15 minutes at a cost of approximately $17 (Canadian).

For a complete list of the locations serviced by Porter Airlines please visit:

Taxis are available just outside the doors of each terminal at the Lester B. Pearson Airport. A taxi takes approximately 45 minutes to make the journey at an approximate cost of $60 (Canadian).

Taxis are available on the mainland entrance to the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and a taxi will take about 15 minutes to reach the host hotels or conference venue at a cost of approximately $17 (Canadian).

Union Station is Toronto's major rail hub with the local subway trains, regional GOtrains and both VIA Rail and Amtrak trains that travel through.

Public Transit

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) provides public transportation to all corners of the city. The system offers streetcars, buses and subway trains for clean, safe and comfortable travel to all attractions with a charge of $3 (Canadian) per adult ride.

A TTC Day Pass gives you unlimited one-day travel on all regular TTC services for $10.50 (Canadian) per person. (Extra fare is required for Downtown Express routes and contracted routes operated by the TTC outside the City of Toronto.)

Airport Express – Shuttle Buses

This service does not connect directly with the hotels reserved for Conference participants (Park Hyatt Hotel, Intercontinental Hotel, Holiday Inn) but does provide a less expensive alternative to Toronto's downtown core (roundtrip – $39.95 Canadian, per person). The closest hotel for drop-off and pick-up would be the Delta Chelsea Inn (at Gerrard and Bay Streets) and is approximately 3 kilometres from the Conference hotels. Thus, a taxi ride would be required from the Shuttle drop-off point to one of the Conference hotels.

For more information on routes, schedules and fares please visit:

Parking costs in downtown Toronto can be very expensive and parking fines are steep. As a guest in one of the hotels reserved for Conference participants, underground parking is available for a daily fee.

Park Hyatt: $40 (Canadian) per day with unlimited in and out privileges
Intercontinental Hotel: $35 (Canadian) per day with unlimited in and out privileges
Holiday Inn: $22 (Canadian) per day self-parking with unlimited in and out privileges
